Dear Coaches,

Welcome to the Garden State Scholastic Championships on Saturday, April 30. Please review the following additional information and contact us if you have questions.

1. The coaches/coxswains meeting will be held at 7:45 AM at the Camden County Boathouse, 2nd Floor. Directions to the boathouse can be found on our websitehttp://www.camdencounty.com/boathouse/
.
2. Crews are responsible for bow numbers.

3. Weigh ins for lightweight rowers are from 8 AM to 10 AM at the boathouse. Coxns are not required to weigh in. No weigh ins will be permitted outside this window. Please have the weigh in forms filled out prior to arriving.

4. Progression for events with 7 boats will be set that the last place boat in each heat is eliminated. If there are any scratches prior to the regatta, that result in a 7 boat race the same rule will apply, the last place boats will be eliminated.

5. Heats may be redrawn if scratches prior to racing necessitate a redraw.

6. Please notify Eileen Normoyle at normoyles@comcast.net of any scratches prior to the regatta. Scratches will also be handled at the coaches meeting. The chief referee will make all changes to the schedule.

7. North Park Drive will be closed from Cuthbert Blvd to Donahue Avenue. All tow vehicles will be given a parking pass when they arrive. That pass will allow them to park diagonally on North Park Drive after the blockade during the regatta.

8. The Park will allow tents up after 5pm Friday. No tents are permitted past the painted line at the river bank

9. NO vehicles are allowed on the grass areas. Vehicles will be ticketed and or towed.

Haddon Township Finishes 2nd In the Manny Flick Series

The HT Crew Club Girls finished 2nd overall in the team points competition for the Flick-Horvat Points Trophy tallying 166 points over four regattas. The Hawks averaged 41.5 points per regatta and every boat scored points for the team at one point during the series. "The coaching staff is incredibly proud of that statistic" said Coach Wisniewski, "we have won races as individual boats in the past, but this is the first year that the entire team has made this level of commitment and it's a really special thing". At Manny Flick #3 and #4, 5 out of the 6 boats racing finished in the top three and the girls JV2x of Julie Cippon and Catie Ely went undefeated in the 3 regattas in which they were in that event.

The Conestoga Crew Club won the trophy scoring 258 points, an incredible accomplishment from the established team from Berwyn, PA.

HTC accomplished this with only 14 girls on the team including novices: "we were incredibly efficient and this is a team accomplishment that all can be proud of". Baldwin finished third with 137 points.

HT Boys also improved throughout the Flick series scoring 22 points in Manny Flick #3 and the JV boys 4x medalled in Mercer two weekends ago.

The coaching staff believes the team has had one of the most productive spring breaks in club history and everyone is so excited to have the team race for medals in the coming weeks. "With the cancellation of Flick #5 and racing in Mercer being truncated, it feels like we haven't toed the line for a long time" said Coach Scott, "I think stepping back from racing has been a really productive thing for us, but I know everyone is very excited to getting back to lining up 6 across".

The team has forged through the challenges of winter training and spring break and their discipline has shown in race results and boat quality. I believe their efforts also help them to develop a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the sport and their abilities. "Right from the beginning, everybody has made a commitment not just to rowing faster and winning races but to getting closer as a team. The success so far this season is a testimony to this cohesiveness and brings fantastic energy to the club's future" says Assistant Coach, Annie Bowler.

The coaching staff is most proud that every kid at one point or another has had a moment of revelation this season, where they've achieved a goal that has not been easy and some of them have reached levels that they have been working towards for years. "I honestly do not believe I could've said that last year or the year before" says Scott, "I can pick a moment for literally every individual on the team where they have achieved a genuinely challenging goal that they should feel really proud of accomplishing and I think we are more primed than ever to have a lot of fun racing for medals".

This Week

This week will be a bit of a juggling act, so we'll need everyone to be on point to make it happen. Today is the Cooper River clean up day so we will have to volunteer from 3-4 and then try to get on the water. If the water is no good today or we can't get on, we will erg test tomorrow at the school instead of Thursday.

Thursday will likely be a water day.

Trailer loading will likely happen on Friday evening and Saturdy we will be rowing out of Vesper for practice which means we will likely have to rig/derig and re-load boats on Saturday so they can be transported to the canoe club on Sunday morning. Everyone will need to be active and moving on Saturday!

Sunday's lineups will be the same as last week.
