Happy Holidays

I hope everyone has gotten an opportunity to get out and play in the snow. I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and give you a heads up on practice times and scheduling. Of course, as always, this schedule is subject to change, but we will do our best to make sure we try to minimize these occurances as much as possible and communicate through this sight when we must make changes.

The official start of practice is Saturday, January 9th and will happen at the COOPER RIVER BOATHOSUE barring inclement weather. Until March 1st, it will be rare that we have practices there, however our first practice will be a run test around the river loop so we will need the facilities of the park. Practice is from 10-12pm and will be held outside so dress appropriately.

Beginning January 11th, practice will commence in our new rowing room! On the week of January 11th all Novices will practice at 3:15 and Varsity will practice at 5:15. That will continue for two weeks, through January 22nd. As most of you know, we will only be practicing 5 days a week in January (Mon-Fri). Beginning January 25th, practices will switch to men/women instead of Varsity/Novice. From January 25th-Feb 5th Women will practice at 3:15 and Men will practice at 5:15. Practices will flip flop in a bi weekly fashion in this way until the end of February. Once we get back on the water (hopefully on March 1st) we will again return to a novice/varsity practice schedule, beginning with Novices having the first two weeks in March at 3:15. This will continue at least through Flick #2 (March 21st). We hope by mixing the Novices in with the Varsity practices relatively quickly that they will be able to learn from their work ethic, technique and attitude.

Similar to last year we will be having a 3 mile run test with Conestoga (and possibly others) sometime in mid-February in Philadelphia on a Saturday. This is an incredibly fun and competitive event and looks as though it will be much bigger this year. We are currently trying to hammer out a final date.

If you are new to the program and unfamiliar with our rules and regulations we encourage you to look over them here.
