Technical Focus

Continuing with our technical theme this week. Here is another great video of some great, slow motion, rowing. For the remainder of the week we have to find that scooping, patient, subtle, motion with the hands at the catch and a quick, connected drive of the first 6 inches. There is too much stop and plop, too many hard hands and quick motions in the boat the don't equate to boat speed. Keep the motions slow and controlled in the boat to make the boat go fast. Jumping around in the compartment gives the illusion of speed but the boats not going anywhere and you are working too hard for moderate speed. Be smarter racers and let's start making it easier on ourselves by rowing a little more technically efficient.
